 Dr. Aparna Bapat, BAMS has been a dedicated International Ayurvedic Specialist (Vaidya), consultant, and educator since 1990 and is a member of the Board of Directors, National Ayurvedic Medical Association (NAMA). She studied Ayurvedic medicine at the University of Pune, faculty of Ayurvedic Medicine & Surgery. She was a Senior Lecturer at the College of Ayurveda in London, U.K. Dr. Bapat is the author of numerous articles on Ayurvedic medicine and related themes, has made multiple television appearances, and is one of the premiere lecturers, scholars and practitioners of Ayurveda in the West today.

 




William A. ("Bill") Courson, C.H., BVS (Ayur), D.Ayur. is a staff member of the Starseed Center for Yoga & Wellness in Montclair, New Jersey and is administrative director of and an instructor at the New Jersey Institute of Ayurveda, of which he is a graduate. A retired accountant with a background in journalism, he has been a lifelong student of and writer on the themes of traditional healing, alternative medicine, spirituality and eastern and western alchemy, and he has authored numerous professional and popular articles in these fields. He has taught professional level courses in all of these disciplines, and most recently trained aspiring physicians in Reiki at the University of Medicine & Dentistry of New Jersey (UMDNJ) Medical School. He is active in a number of professional organizations, and is a member of the National Ayurvedic Medical Association's Standards Committee and Schools Sub-Committee as well as the Indian government-sponsored Ayurvedic Advisory Council for the United States.

 


Barbara Flores, CAHWC, AVS (Ayur) is currently on the college's staff as a Panchakarma therapy teacher.  Barbara is a graduate from Sai receiving the 2 year Associate Degree in Ayurveda as an Ayurvedic Practitioner.  Barbara also attended advance studies in Ayurveda for at the School of Ayurveda & Panchakarma in Kannur, Kerala, India, where she earned advanced certifications in Massage & Panchakarma Therapy, Ayurvedic Esthetic Therapy and Ayurvedic Infant Massage & Pregnancy care.


  

 

Dr. Bhaswati Battacharya, MPH, MD, MA, HHC, DABIHM, FABHM, CAP, is trained as a biomedical pharmacologist, public health researcher, family physician, and ayurvedic practitioner. The former Director of the Division of CAM and Director of Research at Wyckoff Heights Medical Center, she is assistant clinical professor at Weill-Cornell Medical College. She currently serves on the steering committee of the AYUSH International Working Groups and is the chair of the Ayurved-US Advisory Council of the Embassy of India. A documentary about her work can be seen on The Discovery Channel as Healers: Journey into Ayurveda. She currently directs The Dinacharya Institute in New York, dedicated to teaching health professionals about authentic ayurveda
