Entering the World of the Shaman with Dr. Jason Martin and Bill Courson, D.Ayur.

This is the first of a three-part series of wokshops exploring the world of the shaman. Shamanism is the oldest spiritual technology on the face of the earth. It origins are lost in the mists of antiquity, and it has been (and continues to be) practiced around the world today in a myriad of differing lineages and traditions: African, Asian, Native American, Amazonian and so on. Shamanism offers a means whereby problems of life in this world can often be addressed and remedied by journeying to and working in the world of the shaman: the world of spirit, of dreams, energies and potentials. This special weekend experience is intended to introduce you to the world of Shamanism: its history, traditions and lineages, tools and manners of working and its effects on our lives. Included along with lectures on the foregoing topics will be the opportunity to experience a range of shamanic practices, including calling of the directions, the shamanic uses of sound (the crystal singing bowls) and a full shamanic journey. Give yourself the opportunity to learn more about this very ancient, and superlatively effective, healing modality! Our instructor, Dr. Jason Martin is a long-term student of the noted Peruvian shaman and ayahuascero Don Antonio Rivas-Vasquez and has been initiated into the Peruvian-Amazonian lineage of shamanic practice. Bill Courson, one of Sai's faculty, is a long-time student of anthropology and ethnography with an interest in the global practice of shamanism. Tuition: $100.00.
